Freeform Portland is excited to participate in 2026 Portland Design Month with AIGA Portland! This event will celebrate the connection between music, design, and how FFP contributes to Portland’s creative community.

Get a peek behind the scenes of a volunteer-run radio station and see what makes Freeform Portland unique. Explore our studio, talk with DJs, learn how the station works, and discover the many ways you can get involved.

We’re transforming our space into a gallery and gathering place featuring live music, DJs, classic show flyers, local artwork, zines, and archival FFP materials.

Where Geometry Meets the Machine: An Open House at Loupe

Join us for an evening at Loupe's Portland workshop, where industrial robots and mathematical sculpture share the same floor. Host David Nichols — Loupe CEO and the artist behind @polyhedrist — will show how the tools of automation (CNC, waterjet, robot arms) also build monumental steel polyhedra, including a 9-foot, 3,000-pound pentagonal icositetrahedron. Tour the shop, see live demos, and talk with the team. Makers, engineers, students, and the curious all welcome.

An Urban Canvas: How Murals Transform Cities

Mural art is a very active and alive urban element that defines Portland and provides identity to many other cities. They can completely change the tone of a space and give a whole new personality to an urban landscape. Local Portland muralists, such as Christian Tellez from Wesi Mural Studio LLC and others will convene for a roundtable panel discussion about the design process and what goes into designing and executing a mural from a multidisciplinary perspective.
