Wild by Design: Grow Your Own Brand

A field walk for family, friends, and the creative-curious through a Portland garden (location TBD), paired with a two-part nature-based branding experience. We start by noticing: a community walk where we tune into the traits, textures, colors, relationships, and personalities alive in the plants and land around us (documenting what resonates most, what feels relatable, attractive, interesting) in a field guide as we go. From there, we turn our noticing inward with a Root System Map, translating what we witnessed in nature into what we recognize in ourselves: our own traits, values, and sense of identity, searching for where our self-perception and our perception of the natural world collide. We'll then share what surfaced in nature and in ourselves as a group, before moving into the final piece: a branding in your nature exercise that begins to map a personal brand (or one of your own invention) from everything gathered. This is something to take home, sit with, and keep returning to… because like the seasons, our branding, and our sense of self is never meant to be permanent.

Bloom & Brand: Grow, Protect, and Promote your Creative Work

A collaborative conversation between a designer, marketer, and lawyer on how to turn ideas into assets.

Every creative idea has value, and protecting that value starts with understanding your intellectual property. But most people are building, sharing, and collaborating without fully knowing what they own or how to protect it.

This collaborative workshop brings together a designer, marketer, and attorney for a practical conversation on building your brand and safeguarding your creative assets. We will cover the different kinds of IP you may have, including your brand name, logo, and internal company creations, as well as the IP you produce for clients or collaborators. You will also learn how to share your ideas and content confidently on social media, in partnerships, and in campaigns without losing ownership or credit. Leave with a stronger understanding of how to grow, protect, and promote your creative work in ways that support lasting success.

dMob is a FREE social event launched by AIGA Portland in 2003. Hosted on the 2nd Wednesday of every month, it’s a great way to get out and connect with members of Portland’s energetic design community while exploring the city’s various neighborhoods. AIGA Portland wants to encourage discussion, business development, and foster a more dynamic design community in Portland. You’re bound to find inspiration, and opportunity with this friendly, laid-back group of design professionals!

When you arrive, you’ll get a sticker to wear. Venture forth, find another sticker-wearer and introduce yourself or offer to buy them a drink. It’s a great way to break the ice and meet new people.

November WIP - Work in Progress

November 6, 2025

The next Work in Progress is Thursday, November 6th at 6:00 PM PST. Reserve your spot as a presenter or reviewer!

Work in Progress (WIP) is a fantastic opportunity for Oregon-based designers to give and receive feedback either on a specific project or a portfolio piece. We welcome high schoolers, college students, recent graduates, young professionals, mid-level, senior, creative directors and retired designers of all ages to join.

Reviews for feedback in each event are limited to the first three (3) people who sign up and attend – so be sure to register while there are still available spots!

You are also welcome to join in to provide feedback or just listen in. No matter how you would like to participate, please click "Register" to receive the Google Meet link information.

Showing your design drafts and hearing opinions is an integral part of the design process. Work In Progress is an opportunity to engage in that collaborative process. Improve your communication skills, learn to receive constructive feedback, get fresh perspectives on your work, and hone your presentations skills in a welcoming environment.
