Heaven Must Be Near brings together the work of Momo Gordon and Erasto Reyes-Silva. Two artists working in search of a connection with their material choices, channeled through their respective fields of drawing and sculpture. The works of each artist are created with a transcendent interpretation of a destination they're reaching for. A connection that has served as an intimate process of discovery, allowing the artists to get near to what they consider to be their own heaven. For Gordon, that heaven is home — landscapes drawn anew after finding the world outside a hostile place. For Reyes-Silva, it is memory, held onto and shaped in clay.
