Story in Motion: Performance as Prototype (Sunday)

  • Resound NW 1532 Southwest Jefferson Road Portland, OR, 97201 United States (map)

Story in Motion: Performance as Prototype opens the rehearsal room to the public, offering a rare look at how new stories are shaped in real time.

Rather than presenting a finished product, these in-progress table reads reveal the narrative design process: how structure, dialogue, and song are tested, reworked, and reimagined. Audiences will see firsthand how creative decisions are made, where stories shift, and how performance functions as a design method — a way of rehearsing cultural imagination.

This type of event is useful not only for theater-goers but also for anyone interested in how ideas take shape. By treating stories as prototypes, Story in Motion demonstrates how performance can surface hidden assumptions, test possibilities, and invite communities to imagine otherwise.

No prior theater knowledge is needed — just curiosity and openness to seeing the creative process unfold.
